This project was a custom formwork design located in the Delaware River. This is a one sided form design that was placed in the Delaware River, divers were used to install accessories under water. The 6″ x 6′ tall concrete wall was added to hide the steel lagging that held up the river bank. Special 3/4″ Alkas Formply was used due to under water conditions. (Plastic and Metal mesh composite material); 3/4″ formply would not last under water. A special concrete mix was used to pour the wall under water. This was a gang forming application with two different radius applications and the contractor told me that the custom formwork worked great. The contractor was Commerce Construction Co in Bridgeport NJ.
